How much does badminton coaching cost in Sri Lanka?
We cannot tell you yet, and neither can anyone else — not one academy in the country publishes its fees online. We are working through them by phone and will publish real monthly rates as we confirm them. Until then, ask when you call.
What age can a child start badminton?
Most academies here take children from about six, and the one that states a floor publicly says five. Before that it is usually more about coordination than badminton. Ask about batch sizes too — a group of twenty is very different from a group of eight.
Why are so many academies only on Facebook?
Because that is where Sri Lankan sport organises. A Facebook page works for existing members and is close to useless for a parent searching Google, which is exactly the gap this directory is meant to fill.
What should I ask before enrolling?
Four things: who actually takes the session and what they have coached before; how many children are in a batch; which days and times, and whether that is fixed; and the monthly fee including whether shuttles are extra. Ask to watch a session before paying.
Is coaching available in Sinhala and Tamil?
Almost certainly, but very few academies state it publicly. It is one of the things we ask when an academy registers, so it will be on every listing here. Worth asking directly in the meantime.
