D.S. Senanayake College Indoor Sports Complex

A full-size school sports hall on Gregory's Avenue running four wooden courts in a single span — one of the larger badminton halls inside Colombo 07, and considerably bigger than the one- and two-court sheds that make up most of the city's private supply. The floor is pale sprung timber, the roof is high steel truss with the lights hung well clear of the playing lines, and there is a clerestory along one wall that lets in a band of daylight. Four courts in one room is the point: a club night or a group of sixteen can run proper rotations without splitting across venues, and there is spectator seating and locker space along the side for anyone running a fixture. The constraint is that this is a working school facility rather than a commercial hall. The timetable, inter-school fixtures and the Old Boys' Association have first call, so public availability tends to sit early in the morning and in the evening around them, and it will not follow a predictable weekly grid through term time. The OBA website publishes nothing about the complex and no rates are advertised anywhere we can verify, so booking means calling the mobile and asking what is actually free.
